Monday morning boredom
Aug. 20th, 2007 10:25 amI'm trying out posting by email. Hmm.
Today I am bored. As usual, my reports are not running and I have very
little that I can do until I have some data to analyse. Woo.
For the first time since May, I was actually cold last night :-) Oddly
enough, this actually makes me very happy. Even the current dull, rainy,
cold weather makes me happy because it feels like autumn. I love autumn :-)
It's putting me in the mood to write stories with dull, rainy days where my
protagonists sit inside drinking tea in front of warm fires or huddle in
nice bookshops. I think that its possibly inspiring me towards tweeness.
Last night I actually sat down and worked on the rug that I'm making while
listening to a Pottercast. It was very nice although I kept reflecting that
it was possibly a bit too story-bookish. Particularly after I've just
finished reading two Chalet School books in a row (Jo to the Rescue and
Bride Leads the Chalet School, for the interested) and seem to be in an
old-fashioned mood.
I currently have a nice cup of tea, a drafty office (the plants on the
window sill are wafting gently in the breeze) and some cookies. Not quite a
warm room with a fire, but almost as good.
There is still no access to LJ from work, so I shall reply to comments
tonight. I think that this definitely qualifies as babble. I shall return to
waiting for reports and writing snippets of comfort stories.
