I'm home from Peg One and it was absolutely fabulous. More detail later in the week when I'm less exhausted and have my photos downloaded from the camera :-) I was doing great until around half an hour ago when it suddenly hit me that I'm a wee bit tired...

Con, however, was great and I had an absolute blast. I made some new friends, met up with some old friends, found my Sheppard/McKay T-shirt and laughed so hard my sides hurt, both with friends and at the antics of the actors on stage. Really, Ellie Harvey nearly killed me *g*

The only downside was not getting to chat much to some people that I'd wanted to see (um, hi, [livejournal.com profile] sazzle_02) and not quite finding [livejournal.com profile] alyse. I think that I spotted you a couple of times, (the Nibble really was attached to his Gameboy) but I was on my walking stick and never quite managed to move fast enough.

However, I had such a great time that I've already signed up for Peg Two. Erm.

Full details will be added later. For now I must finish unpacking and then find somewhere vertical to rest for a while. Do I have to go to work tomorrow?

I leave for the Peg One con tomorrow and I've already seen to my packing. Got the last minute odds and ends to do tomorrow (must remember the toothpaste this time and not need an emergency Boots stop), but the essentials are in there.

It's scary.

Anyone who knows me will know that I usually don't start my packing until around an hour before I leave, even when on my way to Canada. This usually results in much running around and impressions of headless chickens.

Even scarier, I seem to have managed to pack even lighter than for SG10 and I'm now terribly worried about what I've forgotten. Me and packing light aren't compatible concepts.

The main reason for this spate of sensibility is that I am absolutely, complete and totally knackered. I'm at the feeling slightly icky stage of knackered. I really want to enjoy this con so I'm hoping to sleep in fairly late tomorrow, which means that the majority of my packing must be done to maximise the lie-in. Gotta drop some odds off at [livejournal.com profile] terrylbirch's house, pop into town for a few bits that I couldn't buy at the weekend due to the lurgie and then head over to pick up [livejournal.com profile] paranoidangel42 at 2pm. Nobody should use this as a guide to when I'm going to arrive at the Peg One hotel. M4 motorway junctions defeated me last time and I'm sure the Gods of Roads and Directions will smite me down this time if I get too cocky.

I may post tomorrow before I leave, but if I don't I hope that every in LJ land is safe and happy over the weekend and I will return with many photos and tales. I may even remember to take photos of Joe Flannigan. Maybe.

PS. The current issue of the Stargate magazine has a lovely double page poster of the Atlantis crew. My search for a suitable poster for use at Peg One was quickly ended and there won't be that embarassing "Ack! The dealer room has no good posters and I didn't bring one!" moments. If the dealer room has no good posters, I'm still OK.

I had a quick flick through and just happened to glance at the merchandise page. Their assessment of the Sheppard/McKay T-shirt (yes, that's the wording of the T-shirt title...): "The odd couple of the Pegasus Galazy is here to liven up your day with this great two-character T-shirt..."

Even the merchandising for this show is slashy!

Um, how?

Peg One ticket number: 265. I'm going to the meet and greet party.

Huh?

I totally did not expect to have a ticket number low enough, seeing as I only booked on December 10th.

Still.

I'm going to the meet and greet!

In other news: new glasses have been chosen and they are very swish. They may not be ready by the con (my eyes are so weak that the prescription has to be made in some special place overseas, apparently), but they're going to be very pretty glasses. Very happy :-)

Cut for possible spoilers )

I need to find a poster for signing at Pegasus One. Does anyone know whether there are currently magazines with Atlantis posters in them on the British newsagent shelves?

Also, I'm trying to come up with some designs for name badges for the con. They're a fun way to meet people and put names to the faces of people that I've spoken to on-line but never met, so if anyone wants one you can either leave a comment on this journal or email me privately on selenay936 at selenayhaven dot com. Even if you're a lurker who hasn't friended me and has never spoken to me, come out of the wood work and say hello.

Can't believe that it's less than three weeks now :-)

Apparently the first discs for season 2 are up for pre-order in places. I must investigate...

I booked the hotel room for Pegasus One. Woo!

I finally got access to the Quaker website so I can now update for my client. Woo!

My car started so I didn't have to beg a jump from anyone at work. Woo!

I didn't get any French homework done tonight because I was working on the Quaker thing. Um.

Woo?

When I emailed Da Boss to tell him that I needed to change my holiday dates for the con, he decided that I should try to get into a later running of the training course and enjoy my con properly :-) Haven't heard back from the trainer about whether this will be possible, but it's a small weight off my mind. No further news on the hip so it's not all perfect, but at least something seems to be going well.

Got to spend the afternoon in a terribly boring meeting in a room at just the right temperature to send me to sleep. Propping the eye-lids up with match-sticks became neccessary. The meeting was at another office ten miles away, but the company kindly lays on shuttle buses between the sites so I didn't even have to drive. Sadly, I fell asleep on the bus. What a pity. How much of my afternoon did that process waste?

Maybe I'll have a really early night. After watching the final episode of my Pride and Prejudice DVD, of course. Jane has to finally win her man and Darcy has to attempt a marriage proposal that isn't offensive and bound for disaster. Nope, not a soppy romantic at all :-))

Joe Flanigan has been announced as a guest for Peg One so [livejournal.com profile] paranoidangel42 and I have now got the excuse to book tickets and go.

Waaaaahoooooo!!!

Very happy and bouncy over here. I'd been hoping that one of the people on our trigger list would announce so that I could justify going and now they have.

I know that a few peope on my f-list are also appearing at this auspicious event - anyone want to put their hands up so that I have some new (or familiar, y'never know) names to look out for?

Happy person over here :-)
