Snowses!!

It's snowing! It started a couple of hours ago (when I was on the motorway on the way to work) and it's being really determined right now. I'll be keeping an eye on it to see whether I can bunk off early today :-) Apart from anything else, I do not want to be driving in the dark if it's still snowing heavily.

I managed to seize up completely on the drive home yesterday, very painful, but I've decided to be sensible today. I have painkillers. Many painkillers. And I will be dosing myself thoroughly before getting into the car to hopefully prevent the extremes of ickiness that I had yesterday.

I'm hungry right now. Very, very hungry. And procrastinating on the work front. Although I'm mostly through the extra work that I'm doing to cover for a colleague. Go me :-) But still procrastinating on doing my own work because I know that I've got to redo a section in order to make it more flexible and useful and I'm not entirely convinced whether it will work. Especially as the data warehouse has slowed down to an insane level of slowness.

I did not see Atlantis last night, so no review. It is recorded so hopefully I'll be seeing it tonight or tomorrow. Grr, fathers who want to watch other TV things.

Can you tell that I'm attempting to put off the actual work portion of my day? Maybe I could browse around for laptops that I can't buy yet, but really want to :-) Or try to find funny, silly things to amuse myself.

Is it time to go home yet?

No serious spoilers...

I've been enjoying SGA more than SG-1 for much of this season. Take this week:

S

S

A
C

Just in case...

The Scourge - unimaginative straight line plot with inconsistencies in science/logic/common sense. There was no real suspense or tension, though reasonably well scripted for M&M, as you knew they'd pull another 'deus ex machina' ending.

On the plus side, they let Sam have her spine back for this ep. and actually behave like an officer. 8-)

Coup d'Etat - much more complex plot and you were never quite certain who was fooling whom especially with the volte-face at the end. Enjoyed it. 8-)

Am very much warmed to SGA now, even Caldwell now I know why he was being such an obnoxious and obstructive arsehole in the earlier eps. <3 Ronon Dex. 8-)

I'm one of those rare people who likes SGA but was never a fan of the original series, I've seen, maybe 9 or 10 odd episodes in all of the original, and not in order.

So yeah, obviously much pefer Atlantis. What I liked about the first season was it's direction. I feel like the series has lost it a bit in the second, and I'm not sure where it's going, what do the writers want with the SGA team, what is their plans for Atlantis, is it defence, is it offence, do they want a war?

How are they going to deal with the locals of the Pegasus system, is this a form of imperialism?

I'm not convinced the writer know what they are doing, and that's why I've found this series a little ...strange.

Coup d'Etat made me realise how much I missed the Genii, and their presence in the first series.
