I am home from the con, exhausted but very happy :-))))) This was a great con. I'd say that it was despite Michael Shanks' cancellation, but in some ways I can't help wondering whether it would have been the same kind of con with him. It's certainly a con that proves you don't need a lead actor to have a good con - the guests were all very entertaining and I'd see any of them again. The big success for me was David Nykl - if you see him on a con guest list, buy a ticket. Very funny, energetic man. I think that paranoidangel42 and I have been converted into being Zelenka fans *g*

All of the guests were entertaining, but Dan Shea was the other one who really stood out. I'm always fanscinated by the process of filming and writing episodes, so hearing from a behind the scenes guy was terrific.

I'm now starting to wobble a little on the "not going to Peg One" front, but I'll be waiting to see what guests are announced before making any kind of commitment. PA and I have a list of guests that would be our trigger spots for booking - basically, if anyone on that list books then we'll have a serious discussion and probably end up going. Damn, these conventions play hell with my resistance to temptation.

As always, the best part of the convention was the fans - meeting everyone that I know, meeting some people that I haven't met before (hello nicci_mac!) and just enjoying the fun and community that builds up at these things. The worst part was coming home and rejoining the real world :-(

I'll have the full account later, hopefully tomorrow, with photos and stories. Right now I'm exhausted and must finish downloading the music vids that were recced to me over the weekend before finding some supper and last week's Stargate.

I'm sorry that we haven't been able to meet, too, hon :-( There are still people out there who haven't met me - pretty much everyone on your side of the Pond, in fact. Hopefully that will change one day.

As for Canada...I'm hoping to be out there for a couple of weeks next fall. Not sure about the dates yet, but I'm definitely planning to get there because I'm already missing the place so damn much. This time I'll make sure that we exchange the proper phone numbers and actually get to talk. 'Cos I'm still sorry that it all went kaplooey last time :-(

I sometimes think that summer 2008 (my tentative emmigration date) can't come soon enough!

So sorry I didn't get to say goodbye properly - but we had to RUN to get our train.

2 hours of running from hotel--> shuttle bus --> tube station --> next tube --> train to Manchester, then 3.5 hours ON the train was not so fun.... ;)

Ouch! I'm sorry that I didn't get to say goodbye properly, too, but with that kind of journey at a run I can completely understand. Glad you got home safely and I hope you enjoyed the con as much as I did :-)

It was great, sorry had to rush off at the last minute, and we just caught the train.

I love David Nykl, isn't he a cutie! And I also have some trigger people for the Peg convention, not so much the Ford guy, however.

Glad you managed to catch that train! I'm sure we'll meet up at other events, so don't feel bad about not being able to say goodbye :)

David Nykl is just lovely :-)) Definitely a highlight of the con. Sadly, Rainbow Sun Francks is also not one of my trigger people for Peg One, which is why I haven't signed up yet. I'm starting to really hope that one of my trigger people does get announced because it several friends are now crawling out of the woodwork as already signed up. Damn, my weak-willed self.
