Uh oh, Dominos Canada now has an app to make it easier for me to order pizza and other goodies. This could so very, very dangerous.

I know, I know, I should stick to local independent pizza places. Except the ones around me are absolutely *terrible* and the decent ones are a long drive away. Dominos is, at least, only a twenty minute drive to get carryout (I live too far our for delivery - woe, the only places that deliver are the terrible local ones) and their food is fairly tasty.

I've given up on my one local place that delivers. The last two orders I had from them were dreadful :-(

My local sushi place is now closed so it's a drive over the bridge if I want to get sushi takeout. My takeout options are severely limited here. It's pizza, Thai or Subway, and the Thai place is a thirty minute drive away. This is the one thing I miss about where I lived in England: so many options for takeout and most of them were within delivery range.

I comfort myself with the thought that I can, at least, eat my hard-won takeout while watching the ocean :-D

But damn, this whole Dominos app to make ordering pizza even easier will be destructive. Now I'll be able to just...order it and pick it up on the way home from the superstore. Oops.


I'm reading "Stark Disassembled", one of the Invincible Iron Man trades. Mostly because Reed Richards keeps referring to that time Tony restored his brain from a backup that was out of date. I wanted to see whether Reed is just being a dick or whether Tony actually did that.

Tony actually did that.

From a hard drive.

Oh dear.

The next time fandom tries to convince me that someone's Avengers fic is improbable due to the laws of physics and computing, I'll point them to that time Tony backed up his brain to a portable hard drive and then did a system restore from it. Because that's *so* within the realms of current technology :-D

Also, Reed is definitely a dick but he does have a point about Tony needing to do regular backups if he's going to RESTORE HIS BRAIN FROM ONE. Heh :-D

Avengers canon, never get less crazy. Seriously, ILU. You are my favourite.

If I recall correctly, the reason he had to a. delete his brain, b. restore from an old backup was to keep info from post $date out of the hands of bad people, so really what Tony needs to learn is partitioning.

I've just worked out that's why he did the delete/restore. But he definitely needs to do partitioning! It's not *that* hard :-D

Reed is still being a dick about it, but he's being a dick about the wrong thing. Heh :-D

Yeah, I point everyone at comics when they complain about the improbability of science and shit in fanfics. I have a feeling the fandom will flip a lid when I post my World War Hulks era story...Hulk is ARTICULATE (and he isn't, in fandom).

Domino's, not something I've had since I was a teen, and it sucked back then. How's' the crust now? I prefer Pizza Hut (and used to like Papa John's til the owner of the corp pissed me off).

Fandom definitely takes a lead from the movies on Hulk, where he's still fresh and shiny and inarticulate. Certain segments probably will go nuts but they should probably check the source and your tags before they do that.

I really do love that the comics are way more batshit than anything we can come up with. This is a fandom that is canonically filled with comic book science so I really don't get the uproar when a fic isn't 100% realistic. I mean, even the *films* have some major handwavy science and a ton of magic. The comics have even more. Complaining about Gravity Being Wrong In This Fic? Uh, yeah. I'm going to laugh at that.

I actually like the Dominos crust a lot, so I'm more than happy to order from them. Their pizzas are a lot less greasy and blergh than my local places.

I've ordered from Pizza Hut and had mixed results. Every now and again I order a pan pizza because I have a strange weakness for that crust, but only rarely. I've not been impressed with their other, regular crusts and for some reason their thin crust produced the driest pizza I've ever tried to eat. Cardboard had better texture :-(
