selenay: (The Doctor)
It's entirely possible that I've slept too much. Or possibly that I've slept just enough for my body to realise that it's absolutely exhausted, rather than believing my brain which just says "quit yer complaining and get on with things". 'Cos I am feeling incredibly groggy and exhausted. I could probably go back to sleep and not wake up until tomorrow morning quite happily right now.

I have things that I want to do today, primarily concerned with the sequel to Serpent, but I'm feeling groggy, fuzzy and sleepy. Grrr! Shall be hauling out the notebook anyway and trying to make some headway against the fuzziness. Maybe I need to investigate the efficacy of marshmallows and coffee as a cure for the grogs.

[livejournal.com profile] terrylbirch unveiled part of the map she's been doing for the Serpent sequel. It is beyond gorgeous - I am in awe. You know those lovely pen and ink maps that you get at the front of really good fantasy novels, the ones with forests made of little trees and shading and stuff? With beautifully scribed names for towns and countries? That's what T is working on. She's taken my rough pencil sketches and vague descriptions and turned them into a work of art. I swear that if I weren't the author of this little epic, I'd be downloading the novel just to gaze at the map :-)

In other news, I've bought the first volume of Escaflowne and plan to dip my toes into the scary world of manga. If anyone on my f-list has any recs for series that I might enjoy, I'll happily gobble them up.

And now I must away, to type turn handwritten, illegible script into the further adventures of Denil, Jak, Sai'em and co. And find some marshmallows. And coffee. And possibly sneak a peak at [livejournal.com profile] mmmchelle's Sunday fic. And load more reviews when inspiration fails.
