I'm actually writing fic!
Jul. 7th, 2004 05:57 pmI am having great difficulty not seeing Tour de France spoilers before I watch the coverage in the evenings. I have to make a mental note to check my Friends page in the morning, before the race has even started, rather than late in the afternoon as is my frequent habit. And then I must not look again until tomorrow morning.
I have also had an idea for a fic. 'Five Things That May Never Happen To SG-1. I even have all five things. It's sort of an adaptation of the Five Things concept (which I love) combined with a challenge issued by
riverfox a few months ago. Although the fact that it's taken most of the afternoon to construct the first thing may not be a good sign. And it's also (eep!) gen. Still, it's the most SG fanfic I've written for a month, so that's a sign of progress.
We're also just beginning the gales and rain that were predicted for the South of England. Much fun. The parents were out last night propping up the neighbour's fence because he's to damn lazy to fix the broken panels. We don't want his dog in our garden, though, so the propping had to be done.
And in crappy news, I appear to be coming down with a cold. Again. I'm hoping it's just my imagination, but have the bad feeling that it isn't. Grrr. This is has been a rotten year for catching colds. I'm only just over the last one!
