Corporate fun
Oct. 31st, 2005 06:12 pmI have survived day one of the corporate brain washing exercise (AKA induction training) intact. Cynicism and irritation with corporate greed are still present and correct. Just gotta get through another session tomorrow morning and then I get released back to my office to play around with SQL to my heart's content.
The trainer was scary. Completely brain washed. How can anyone be that enthusiastic about a company and still have a life? Is that what they expect me to be like? Even my fellow inductionees were rather worried by her. Erp.
I keep feeling that there are fannish things that I should be doing before I go to SG-10. I seem to think of things when I'm in the car on the way home, but they've gone by the time I get to the computer. Darn this short term memory.
Maybe I need to sit down and write Teyla/Weir angst instead :-) Or possibly see how much trouble I can put Denil and Jak into before I get to the con, for better tormenting of certain individuals *snicker*
Why did I get so darned happy when they played 'The Monster Mash' on the radio on the way home?

Date: 2005-10-31 10:52 pm (UTC)That's what my Starbucks barrista training was like. Interestingly enough, I got sacked because I refused to subscribe to the corporate bullshit. ;o)

Date: 2005-11-01 06:33 pm (UTC)Isn't it amazing the way that big corporations do this brain washing thing, but smaller companies just hope that you like them already instead? Hmm.
There could be something in that idea.

Of course you could always have a look at that *stuff* of mine - as well as SITS, obviously. Not begging. I have marshmallows.
