A happier Sel
Jul. 26th, 2005 06:09 pmAfter a bit of a pep talk from my lovely friends and various family members, I'm feeling happier about yesterday's interview. Or at least, I'm not quite as convinced that I came across as a crazed idiot with manic tendencies. Plus an agency called today because they have some roles that I might be interested in and wanted an update on my status. Woo! Should be calling back by the end of the week with some definite roles.
So, the job hunt is going much better than it was a fortnight ago.
I've finished Harry and will have an in-depth dissection soon. Immediate response involved loving it and wanting to re-read immediately. I'm forcing myself to wait for at least a week. If anyone wants to point me to interesting discussions/dissections/ponderings that I've missed with my self enforced absence from the f-page, feel free.
In the meantime, Sam Vimes (otherwise known as
copperbadge has been posting a fic that reminds me of why I shouldn't read WIPs - they're too darned addictive and I'm too impatient. The fic parts are being posted to
sam_storyteller because his main archive is down. This also means that I must update the links for 'Stealing Harry' in the review archive. Damnit, I really need to get the database project finished. Happily, I'm now on Chapter 3 of the PHP/MySQL book. Unhappily, there are still sixteen chapters to go. Back to the grindstone, then.
ETA: It would, of course, help if I mentioned that the fic in question is called 'Cartographer's Craft'. D'oh!
