The Untamed episodes 40 and 41

selenayBank holiday! So I have done several hours of gardening, including almost losing my gloves to a rose bush, and now I have noodle arms but I can write this.
Hooray, show, you gave me three-quarters of an episode of hilarity and joy before descending into pain and holy fuckness!
The juniors arguing over WWX and whether or not he’s evil could have descended into something awful, and Jin Ling was definitely trying to take it there, but then LWJ happened. Specifically, he swept in, ordered alcohol, and swept away to his room leaving all the juniors just staring at him and it was AMAZING. All of them just mind-blown by LWJ buying alcohol. hockeybosh noted) LWJ had WWX waiting upstairs for him so he wasn’t going to notice anything they did.
Heh.
And Wen Ning was so adorably hilarious. OMG. Like...there was no way that sequence looked like anything except WWX desperately trying to get his roommate to go away because he’s got someone coming over and he needs privacy, you know? Alone time. With his significant other.
I love Wen Ning so much.
Of course, WWX and LWJ were getting down to serious business that was actually business, BUT STILL. And I love the way WWX asks to go to Golden Unicorn Tower with LWJ and LWJ just says yes, because he’s decided that this time around he’s going to get WWX everything he needs and support him no matter what he’s doing. It’s great.
(Also, look, convenient one month gap for fic writers, thank you show.)
Impressively, WWX went to a banquet and didn’t end up fighting anyone before the end. Look at you, getting all mature and sensible about actually staying under cover even though you’re wearing a body that apparently caused a lot of trouble here in the past. Oops.
And there was that great teacher!WWX sequence with Jin Ling! The kid is a brat, but he that’s because needs someone like WWX around him to file off some of the sharp edges. And WWX is so good at the teacher thing. I have so many feelings about that.
(And also so many feelings about WWX’s dog phobia and Jin Ling using it. BRAT.)
Of course, then we get to the horrifying part of the two episodes. I’ve never been so worried about a little paperman in my life.
And my 95% certainty that JGY is behind all the terrible things has been upgraded to 100% certainty. I’m really regretting liking him the early episodes.
As HB noted, that’s what he’s good at: making people feel sorry for him and like him, using a show of weakness to gain stuff, and by the time you realise he’s actually the worst it’s too late. He’s right there, stabbing you in the back.
(And preserving your head, OMG, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT.)
I’m feeling incredibly sad for Lan Xichen right now, because he’s believed in JGY all the way through and been his good friend (possibly also ‘good friend’?) and he’s going to find out a lot of things he really doesn’t want to know. Particularly that reveal about JGY using the music LXC taught him to kill Nie Mingjue, that’s going to hurt a lot.
Honestly, it’s the impact on LXC that’s making me most angry with JGY right now.
Throughout all of this, LWJ was there at WWX’s side, supporting and helping and believing, and I’m never going to get past that. Whatever is about to happen, even if JGY has somehow managed to disconnect his portal thing or empty his dungeon room in five minutes, LWJ believes in WWX and therefore they’ll figure out a way to bring JGY down.
I can pretty much cope with anything right now as long as LWJ and WWX are together and believing in each other <3

All he has is WWX's word, but he doesn't need any more than that to go "yep, I will shake the entire cultivation world down to its bones".
