Nothing about this is okay, everything is very stressful. And I still don't know what WWX's terrible plan is, but I'm more convinced than ever that it's terrible.

As in, it will have terrible consequences for WWX.

After all, why would he go to all this effort to disguise what's really going to happen if there weren't? He clearly knows Jiang Cheng and Yanli wouldn't let him do whatever he's about to do, which means he knows this is not going to end well for him. I'm about 90% convinced at this point that he's found a way to repair Jiang Cheng's golden core by giving up his own.

Maybe 95% convinced.

And neither of them would let him do that, which is why he's come up with an elaborate ruse of some kind to convince Jiang Cheng that it isn't really WWX doing this. Except, if what I think is going to happen is what actually is going to happen, how on earth does he plan to hide that he isn't magic any more? Really, WWX, THIS IS A TERRIBLE PLAN.

I can't decide whether the person under the hat is Wing Qing or WWX doing some kind of magic to hide his voice. It could be either? Ugh.

There were some bright points to this episode of horrible anticipation.

The flashback to WWX's first days in the Jiang household was delightful. bb!WWX, JC, and JY are all lovely and I really enjoyed seeing the first development of the sibling bond. It demonstrated so nicely that they are all close, despite the annoyance and irritation JC always shows to WWX, and it also showcased Jiang Yanli as the older sister who looks out for both of them. Such a lovely moment.

And it was good to get the thirty second "BTW, here's all the other things happening out there, it's called the Sunshot Campaign and Lan Zhan is fighting" recap because I'd been wondering why the Wens weren't showing up at Yiling. Apparently they're busy being defeated right now. Although if they're being defeated already and it's episode 18, that leaves me with a sense of foreboding about what's going to happen next.

Show, you are so helpful about relieving my stress and adding new stress all at the same time.

The more I see Wing Qing and Wen Ning, the more I like them.

The more I see Xue Yang, the more I dislike him. But in a more entertaining way than Wen Chao, who is just awful without any entertainment factor. Xue Yang is clearly evil, but there's clearly a lot more happening with him than just being evil.

I'd say "at least we got a Song Lan bit", but it was an unhappy and worrying bit so that didn't help at all.

This show is very stressful. Mostly because it's filled with characters I've become unreasonably attached to and bad things keep happening to them.

I mean, I know that it wouldn't be an interesting show if it was just fifty episodes of silly shenanigans with LWJ and WWX in the Cloud Recesses, but it would be a less stressful experience.
