I'm a...er...second cousin again! Yay!

My cousin's girlfriend had her baby last night - a little boy weighing in at 6 lb 10 oz. Mother and child are doing fine, although it wasn't an easy birth. Mom had pre-eclampsia and had to have an emergency C-section because the baby became distressed. Baby Boy will be in ICU for a couple days and Mom in the hospital for about a week.

But they're safe and that's the important part. New Dad is very proud, as is his mother who spent half an hour babbling to me on the phone. From Canada. At premium rate.


No comments on Dario Frigo. Hope this is the last time we hear about drugs and doping in this year's race.

Why yes, I was pleased to see him manage such a spectucular stage win :-)) Particularly after yesterday's problems. So good to see.

It was also good to see Rasmussen keep clocking up the KoM points - damn, that man might be the only potential challenger for Lance's overall lead. I love the mountains :-)

That would be first cousin once removed. I think. You share grandparents with your first cousins, great grandparents with your second cousins, and so on. I know your parents cousins are yours once removed. I'm not entirely certain about the other direction!

*g* I wasn't entirely convinced that I had my counsinships right their. It all gets much too confusing after first cousin so I just plonk them under the blanket cousin lable and try not to think about it too hard :-)
