Oh god, someone shoot me

I've been so busy this week that I haven't had time to look at LJ much. I've watched Doctor Who, but just don't have time today for an in-depth analysis - hopefully tomorrow.

Why am I here at the moment? 'Cos I'm going slowly insane. Well, possibly not slowly. I'm attempting to write the text for the portfolio website and it's killing me. Ack!! I'm not terribly happy with the design but it at least looks fairly clean and I can spiffy it up after my holiday. But the text...

Oh god.

Trying to find a good way to say "hey! look at me! I'm great!" is defeating me. No wonder so many portfolio sites are actually blogs - saves writing that scary front page text and thinking of an interesting way to present information on yourself. This is why I hate writing job applications - trying to advertise myself when my first instinct is not to draw attention to myself.

And I need the bare-bones site online tomorrow. Gah!!

It can be really hard to talk up your own abilities. If you want someone to look over the text I'm around this afternoon.

Thanks, hon :-) Having someone just take a quick look over the text on the front page (y'know, the first thing that people see) will reassure me a lot.

I'm trying to get this sorted before I leave for Canada on Friday because the site that I've been designing (for money!) goes live tomorrow and I need to have some contact point on the web if anyone looks at the site and thinks "hmm, I wonder whether she could do my website...". I'll probably be re-doing and seriously tweaking it when I return, but for the moment...

Oh, god, I'm just getting myself too nervous about all this stuff :-)
