Mar. 11th, 2013 01:37 pmClock changes are so confusing. My house is now on DST. My car isn't, I need to get the manual out to figure out the clock again.
My office is entirely random. Some clocks are on DST. Some aren't. There are a few where someone set the clock back instead of forward. One clock has given up completely and appears to think we're in Belgium.
Add to that, I've now got three weeks before the UK does its change so my timings for Sunday Skype chats are off. Why can't we all just do it on the same weekend? *whines*
This weekend I did the terrifying job of updating my iPad to iOS6. (Shut up, I know, it should have been done months ago) Thankfully it went OK, my iPad did not brick, and I like some of the new features. I also loaded up a couple of new films and worked out how to use the avi player my dad recced to me, so I now have episodes of Holby and Call the Midwife to watch over supper this week.
Seriously, don't ask why I didn't do this months ago. IT'S A REVELATION. Being able to play .avi files is going to be awesome.
We're all settled in at home, the cats have recovered from their vacation, and this week I'm determined to Get Things Done. Specifically, I've got a fic to finish editing so it can be posted later this week and I need to start restocking the freezer with meals.
Also, I need to hit the exercise because my back is aching badly and I've lost ground on the getting fit thing over the last few weeks.
I need some kind of reward system for exercising, I think. A reward system that does not involve food or buying myself things.

Date: 2013-03-11 09:55 pm (UTC)Also, with the exercise reward, I used to use fic. I mainly do walking or exercise bike in my weak attempts to not be completely sedentary, and with walking you can listen to podfics/podcasts, and I got really good at reading on the exercise bike. I actually had a friend e-mail me kilos and kilos of smut fic that she had printed out at her work to read at the gym. But ereaders also work, and I think the new Kindle has a feature where it can read to you? Idk. I'm thinking about going back to that system, because I need to stop being such a couch potato AND I need to get better at keeping up with all the new fic in fandom.

Date: 2013-03-11 10:33 pm (UTC)IT IS. THAT'S A WORRYING LEVEL OF ENTHUSIASM I SENSE IN YOUR QUESTION.
I'm halfway through my beta's comments and they're not too scary, so I'm hoping to have it ready to go by Friday :-D

You had I have very similar exercise habits :-D I do the podfic/podcast thing when I'm walking, but that's a fair weather thing. My bike is usually dragged in front of the TV and I load up Netflix with something to watch. Usually if it's got lots of action and fighting then I pedal harder, which maybe isn't the best system but whatever works!
I'm just trying to think of some form of reward system where I get something/permission to do something/have a smut fic saved up and waiting if I do X number of workouts a week.
Two workouts usually happen, I'm trying to incentivise myself into the third.

Date: 2013-03-12 06:17 am (UTC)I know for me, the reward for working out is being able to veg out afterwards. I'll have a shower and watch a movie, rather than turning my computer on (because going online is active for me, and usually just reminds me of all the stuff I still need to do). I usually spend all of my free time doing things, so being able to just sit down and do nothing is the best. For a while I was putting audiobooks on and knitting, but then I discovered that I hate most of the audio books I have :p
