I bought a replacement for my good ball pen, which was killed by a faulty refill that exploded and leaked, thereby ruining the clicky mechanism. I bought the replacement at lunch time. Today. I took it out of the packaging, wrote a couple of lines, was just casually fiddling and opened it.

To find that the inner refill thingy had broken open, spewing out ink and that was why the clicky mechanism in the new pen didn't work very well.

Grrr.

Considering how rare it is for those refills to break, what are the odds of two pens dying in a week? Gah! New pen is going back to the shop tomorrow for a refund because that's just stupid. Particularly when it wasn't a cheap pen. Bleh.

In good news, I had a meeting with the client for the website that I'm designing and I've got a go on the design. Woo! They love, they love the suggestions that I've made and they even love it enough to pay me. I am a very happy webdesigner. Now I just have to pick a domain name and set up my portfolio. Domain name...domain name...domain name...

Nope, still blank.

*g* Thank you. It makes me feel a little more confident about pursuing this as a career. Plus getting some money for all the hard work is going to be amazing.

The weird part is that it doesn't feel like work. How cool would it be to get paid for doing something you love doing?

And the pens are sorted. Got a refund on the faulty one, went to a bigger store with a better selection and bought a pen that I adore. It's purple. And has a reassuring solidity to the build. The clicky thing works beautifully. And it's purple.

Purple pen is gorgeous. I'm in love. Why haven't they made this pen before? I could have gone into exams feeling wonderful because I knew that I'd be writing with a fabulous purple pen. Bad pen manufacturers :-)
