That particular substitution in the middle of a sex scene is jarring, to say the least :-D I spend the next five pages with my brain on a permanent loop of unfortunate anatomy.
This week there is no Tour so I'll be trying to get a lot of writing done. I'd like to have two chapters of the![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
marvel_bang done by the end of the week and a signficant chunk of the ridiculous AU. That would, at least, get me near the halfway mark on the MBB first draft and through some of the bits of the ridiculous AU that I'm nervous about.
It's a good distraction. Today I had to tell Mum that I have an appointment with Awesome GI Guy next week because she wanted to borrow the car that day. How she picks the only day in a two week period when I need the car is beyond me. I'm keeping a low profile on the appointment in an effort to keep her from worrying, although two people over the weekend remarked on how pale and tired I look. Tomorrow I visit the vampires. Hopefully I'll have good veins because being unable to extract blood is usually a bad sign for my blood volume...
There is also some really stupid crap going on with my aunt that involves a bankruptcy declaration, her credit cards, her inability to figure out that she cannot spend money on stupid crap anymore (seriously, don't ask what she announced last night she was planning to do because apparently she still hasn't worked out that with her credit cards gone she can't spend more than her monthly income because there is no magic free money anymore) and the discovery that she has no ID anywhere that has her actual full legal name on it.
I'm not kidding there. Even her (no longer legally recognised) birth certificate substitute has her NAME SPELLED WRONG and she never bothered to get it corrected. The not bothering to do stuff thing has not helped her current situation at all *sigh*
Parents: a first name, middle name and surname are sufficient. Adding two more names than this will cause a world of hurt. And use standard spellings in all those names. Random substitutions of y's for i's will guarantee that paperwork for stuff like car loans is never correct and may cause legal headaches that make accountants' heads spin.
Anyway, last night after her announcement of her latest and greatest scheme I slightly lost it and declared that I give up and will not be talking to my aunt or discussing her financial woes again until hell freezes over.
OK, that's not actually going to happen. Mother will keep me informed on her no matter what my wants are and I'm constitutionally incapable of cutting my aunt out. I'm just very angry because this is pretty much entirely her fault, her income is plenty to live on quite comfortably, she just refuses to learn to manage her money and even having to declare bankruptcy isn't making her change her habits.
*sigh*
In other news: the all salad all week supper plan is coming into effect today...just in time for a prediction of two days of torrential rain starting tomorrow. I apologise to all Atlantic Canadians for the coming rainpocalypse. I'll try to make next week filled with comforting pastas, roasts and other foods one does not want on a hot day so that the weather returns to summer.
Also, my cats are very...special. Annie-cat showed us on Saturday that she has a look of Great Judgement. Apparently I must shower before cuddles are acceptable if I've used sunscreen and she will judge me for the sunscreen and lack of cuddles if I do not.
Kate produced her Super Death Glare last night when I dared to suggest she should move so that I could feed her. She was very comfortable, thank you, and when faced with the choice between food or being allowed to stay comfy and asleep, she'll take the latter.
My cats are not like other cats, I suspect.
