Biting my tongue again
Jun. 8th, 2012 08:57 pmMum is borrowing my car today. I'm going to pretend that I didn't see any of the swerving and overly tight corners while she drove me to work! I'm sure she'll be fine! She seemed steadier by the time we got here!
*bites nails*
"I don't need time to adjust to the wrong side of the road" my arse, Mum.
We also had some 'minor' disagreements about my laundry techniques yesterday. Tip: if you're not the one wearing the clothes or making the bed, you get no input in how I wash/dry my clothes or fold my sheets. As the shrunken PJs from the last time I got 'helped' with laundry will testify, there are good reasons why my sheets and towels are the only things that get tumble-dried *sigh* If we did joint laundry then I'd put up with whatever she wants to do, but we've each been doing our own laundry since her first visit due to our differing opinions on laundry.
Let's hope this stuff settles soon. She seems much more critical and irritating than normal.
Tomorrow I intend to mostly sleep and read, with a bit of soup making in the middle. Hopefully I can persuade Mum to get on board with this plan, or at least leave me in peace on the sofa if she really needs to be busy busy busy.
And everyone, if I haven't ended the weekend with at least 200 pages of a Hugo book and a volume of Fables under my belt, feel free to shout at me. There was a little 'incident' on AO3 last night and now my Kindle has a lot of fanfic on it to read...

Date: 2012-06-09 01:24 pm (UTC)I'm hoping that we'll readjust quickly and stoop treading on each other's toes. Otherwise this will be a long six months. It does feel like it's worse this time than usual :-(
