Fanfic author appreciation week
Mar. 7th, 2005 10:38 pmThis is not one of the days when I have anything insightful to say, so instead I've borrowed from
riverfox to contribute to:
Fanfic Authors Appreciation Week (she say Day, but I'm thinking Week, considering the dates :p)
March 6 through March 13
Post to your LJ each day at least one of your favorite fanfic authors and why you love
them, their work, and why they need more appreciation.
C'mon! You know you want to!
Having missed one day, I'm going to pick out two for today :-)
kylielee1000 is a writer who often doesn't write the popular pairings and manages to pull off some fascinating fics because of that. Hell, she got me reading Daniel/Jonas (a pairing that I swore I'd never read) and convinced me that Beckett/Halling could really work. Her fics are often hot, generally thoughtful and always worth reading. Kylie's website can be found here.
Missy Good is the queen of the 'fade to black' sex scene. She writes Xena femslash (original series and Uber) and was once accused of writing characters who never have sex, a complaint that her fans reacted to with a major giggle fit. Her Xena/Gabrielle stories are great but it's her Dar/Kerry Uber stories that capture me - I love Dar and Kerry, their settings and lives work surprisingly well and I always look forward to a new adventure with them. Her website can be found here.
Could I possibly highlight two more different authors? *g*
