So, new companion?

Today was better than yesterday, although I still felt exhausted and flu-ish. Hopefully tomorrow will be much better: there's a bake sale at work and I need comforting baked goods!

Anyway, anyone want to express their opinion on the new Doctor Who companion in the comments? I've seen her photo and may try the Titanic mini-series to get an idea of what she's like. Seen a few speculations on what her character will be and I'm intrigued.

The only disappointing thing is the confirmation that I'll only get a small number of episodes this year. Boo.

Let's hope this means next year will be awesome to the power of a billion and they give me something out of this world for my the Doctor's birthday.

I haven't seen her in anything so can't judge her by previous performances. It'll depend on what they do with the character. I suppose I'm neutral at the moment, and very much, "let's see what happens".

The small number of episodes is disappointing. :-( Oh well, maybe it's all leading up to something spectacular for the 50th.

I'm hoping that a few hints that I've seen play out and I was planning to watch Titanic anyway, so I'll have a chance to see her other roles. It seems like everyone is as unfamiliar with her as we are!

The limited number of eps is the big disappointment, definitely. Moffat has been strongly hinting that the 50th will be big so I'm hoping he's being truthful. A huge DW extravaganza on my birthdays? Yes please!

My reaction to the news that they were going to announce the new companion was "there's no point getting excited because I've probably never heard of them". Which turned out to be true. So I have no reaction to the news therefore.
