Feeling deep and intellectual

selenayI spent the afternoon at the ballet today and it was fantastic :-) Moscow City Ballet performing Tchaickovsky's Sleeping Beauty with classic choreography. Wonderful. I took a friend along who has never been to a ballet or even seen one on TV and she enjoyed it so much that she wants to know about any future plans to see another so that she can tag along. I've got a convert, it seems :-)
I was one of those little girls who wanted to be a ballerina when she grew up and had day dreams about joining Sadler's Wells. Of course, I grew out of that by the time I was twelve and thankfully had always been quite aware that I didn't have the talent (or, as it turned out, the body shape) to actually make it. With my childhood tom boy tendancies, it's always surprised me that I was such a ballet kid. And have turned into a ballet-loving adult, despite my geek tendancies and absolute refusal to wear skirts. Not complaining, though, because this afternoon was fantastic.
Now, I wonder whether any companies are doing The Nutcracker this Christmas...
In other news, I had a strange email today. Apparently, a site called teeswithatwist.com want me to sign up for their affiliate program, specifically promoting an audio book read by Michael Shanks that's being published in June. The weirdest part is that they used my feedback form rather spamming the domain and they appear to be a legit outfit, from what I've been about to find out. Huh. The real question becomes whether I want to introduce ads and a store section to my site. My first inclination is to say no. My second thought is also to say no. I'll keep the email for a week or so while I think carefully, but I have a feeling that I'll continue saying no.
I do wonder why they singled out The Haven, though. I'm sure there are other sites with better traffic stats. Has anyone else been contacted by this outfit lately?
