Still sick, please kill me
Mar. 24th, 2010 03:52 pmSo. That cold. I still haz it. In fact, it's still as had as it was on Sunday. Yesterday was spectacularly bad. If I tell you that I didn't spot that my shirt was snot-stained until I got home from work, that should tell you something.
Today I've been working from home. Couldn't face driving.
I've also not really felt like eating, but I'm going to try and remedy that shortly. Maybe if I start eating then I'll actually be hungry?
Anyway, I hate all rhinoviruses, adenoviruses and that other cold virus that I always forget the name of. Stupid things. Flu, at least, is a really cool virus. The cold ones are stupid and boring and did I mention that I hate them?
Blergh. Please kill me now?

Date: 2010-03-24 10:48 pm (UTC)1. Go to bed.
2. Stay there for at least eighteen continuous hours, with the exception of taking on or letting off of fluids.
3. Stay at home the next day, doing absolutely nothing that involves your brain. At all.
4. If you feel better the day after that, still stay at home. Trust me. You're only feeling better because you're not trying to do anything.
As I say to my minions: your responsibility to do your job well includes going home to recover when ill, so that you can be back at work doing your job properly again soon, rather than dragging it out and infecting others in the process.

Date: 2010-03-26 09:03 pm (UTC)I probably should have taken a day, but I'd already had a day earlier in the month for a migraine and I still live in fear of being disciplined for excessive sick time after three years of working for a company that defined "excessive" as three days off in a 52 week cycle. So, I worked from home instead. In hindsight, I really should have taken a day or two just to sleep it off.
Er, that's what weekends are for?
