Big Bang - done!

My tardis_bigbang fic was just emailed off. 20,788 words of Doctor Who fanfic (you probably can't guess who it's centred around, can you?) have been polished, beta'd and released into the world.

The stories go live on the website at the end of the month, I think, with their lovely artwork. I can't wait to see what other people have written.

Now I need to get the Journey's End fix-it beta'd and three other short things (1 Doctor Who, 2 Star Trek) edited and posted. Er, then I'm searching around for some ideas to write :-)

I fly out to Denver on Thursday so I'm glad to have that off my list of things to do. I'm feeling more organised for the trip than I expected to be at this stage - what's going to go wrong?

Congrats on finishing your bigbang.

I may end up defaulting at this point. I was planning to finish it up this weekend, but have been felled by a nasty cold that makes it difficult to stay upright, let alone think about plot and characters. :(

You don't seem to have had much luck during this Big Bang :-( Perhaps it would be better to default and finish at your leisure rather than putting a ton of pressure on yourself when you're feeling crappy.

I took a sick day, but my head is clearer and I've spent the entire day revising. I'm almost done. As in I have the last scene done, but it refuses to end neatly. D: I'm only about 300 words over the minimum, so I'm cutting it fine, but with any luck I should be posting a beta call in about 15 minutes.

Weirdly, it came together really well in the end. I'm not quite as happy with it as I was with my last one, but I think, all things considered, it turned out pretty well.

That's terrific! I guess you just needed some rest and non-stress to get it finished :-) I'd answer the beta call, but with the trip in two days there's no way I'd get it finished in time! Hope you get some offers and I look forward to reading it in a few weeks :-)

:) Rest was good. Non-stress was better. Also being stuck on the sofa not managing much except a little knitting and tv and time to think.

Don't worry about it. I have a few people who had offered to beta (most of whom are probably asleep by now), but I'm sure I'll find one or two betas quickly.

I really liked your ideas! I don't think that I'll have anything done by July (really too much going on throughout June, it seems) but I've been thinking and starting to get some ideas again.

The idea of looking into local history and maybe writing something inspired by real events got me thinking, at least.

There have been hundreds of shipwrecks out in the ocean that I see from my kitchen window every day. I'm wondering what I could do with that...

I'm planning to go back to visit her when it's a little less crazy and then we'll definitely need to meet up. This wedding has an insane schedule! I'm technically only in Denver Thursday night - the wedding is in Aspen and we're driving up there on Friday. I'd like to have some proper time in Denver at some stage!
