The air con is apparently not working on several floors in my building. Workmen have been sighted, but no actual fixing has happened yet. That would explain why I'm finding it a little warm and stuffy - everyone else in here must be sweltering! My eyes are sore and gritty and I'm tired from staying out too late last night, so this isn't helping :-(

Still, it's Friday :-D

Tomorrow I have been told that I am hosting a barbeque. This apparently involves my aunt and cousin providing food and cooking expertise while I provide the BBQ and deck. Perhaps I should buy some drinks so that there is more than water and OJ on offer?

This past week I have been on a sort of retreat from the Internet thing. Not for any particular reason, but in recent months I've been lurking on the Net for a lot of the evening, eating really late (usually in front of the TV) and then spending the rest of the evening watching TV and sometimes knitting. It's not been particularly constructive but at the same time I've been really tired.

So I'm trying to do small things. Eat supper earlier and do it in the kitchen, reading a book. Work on the lace shawl after supper a couple of times a week. Read on the sofa rather than watching TV if I don't have anything constructive to do. No more than 1 hour of TV per night during the week.

Strangely I'm feeling more relaxed. Eating earlier and not using my supper as the start of an entire night in front of the TV is really helping. When I get onto the Net, I'm using my time better. It's nice to spent time with a book and my cats.

The only downside is that I'm doing a bit less knitting on the tunic, but hopefully that will even out when the lace shawl is finished. We'll see. For now I think that it's a better habit to be in.
