Writing update
Dec. 23rd, 2004 06:21 pmHave finished the two Teyla/Weir short things and will get them coded and up on the website tomorrow. They're getting a little less 'pre', a little closer to slash, and I'm feeling rather happy.
Also worked a little on the novel. Sadly, not as much as I'd planned :-(
Words handwritten today: 500 approx.
Total words handwritten: 25,000 approx.
And have been offered a temp job in a bank to start in January. I'm actually a little nervous about it. Haven't worked properly for two years due to the whole university thing and, now that I have work, I'm wishing that I didn't have it. Guh. A lot of the worry is about how I'll cope with it - I crashed on Tuesday evening, went from fine to beyond exhausted in thirty minutes, and spent most of the past thirty-six hours in a sort of daze. That's not how I planned to be and if I do it again when working...um, yeah. It's also ocurred to me that I'll have to start sending out applications for permenant work soon and that may be a part of my panic. Work. Yurch. Working from home, now, that appeals a lot. Wouldn't have to deal with the whole wearing a suit and dealing with people stuff, which is the source of my panic. The odds of finding a good starter job in development that's mostly from home? Approximately the same as Janet Fraiser showing up on my doorstep wearing a grin and a bow.
Haven't seen Stargate yet, but may I say that The Storm/The Eye was fabulous? Wonderful? Loved every minute?
Oh, yes, my favourite characters soaking wet and being brave. Teyla just...guh. The knife-fight. I shouldn't see the slash because I'm committed to the Teyla/Elizabeth thing. But...yeah.
I'll be more coherent after the second viewing :-)
I accidentally interrupted Mom while wrapping and caught a peek of one of my presents. Oops! But I'll be a very happy girl on Christmas morning :-))
