Big Bang - first draft
Apr. 26th, 2009 05:32 pmI am feeling so pleased with myself :-) My Big Bang first draft just sailed off to be tackled by artists. For those not in the know, you can get details on the challenge (and see last year's fics) at the Big Bang website.
First draft was 20,362 words and I actually wrote those last ten pages. It needs a lot of editing, possibly some bits need some expansion and some bits needs tightening, all the fun stuff that writers love and hate with equal measure, but I hit the word count and got a complete draft out there.
Phew!
So I am committed to having a completed, edited fic submitted in six weeks time. No pressure, right?
Now I can start looking at the Bambera ficlet that I wrote last week and think about betas and edits on the Journey's End fix-it fic as well.
Also, I think that I'll be signing up for
femslash09 this year despite thinking it would be impossible with Big Bang. I am so weak :-) This may also be due to me watching Bend It Like Beckham last night (um, yes, again) and thinking "Hey, I'd actually quite like to get challenged with BiLB fic this year!". By pure accident, this looks like being one of the most productive years for a while, writing-wise. Hooray!
