Fun morning
Dec. 11th, 2004 11:32 amThings that are fun to do on a Saturday morning: ask the parents how to spell curare so that I can research it :-) They're starting to get a little worried. I'd try to explain to them about the novel, but I don't think they'd get it. But the boggle look was fun :-)
Also, I discovered that Amazon.co.uk is now renting DVDs. Woo! Wasn't there on Tuesday, so this is very new. I discovered it when Mom made a strange excited noise (that might have been a squee if she wasn't...Mom) while checking her emails. Damn, I didn't find it first. So we've signed up for the service (£7.99 for 4 DVDs per month, way cheaper than renting from Blockbuster and the library) and made a long list of things we want to see. Hopefully the first round of DVDs (we're allowed two at a time) will arrive before Christmas so that we'll have some fun movies to watch. Yay! Then we just pop the DVDs in the *pre-paid* envelope, pop that into a post box and wait for the next two from our list to arrive.
If I'd known that this existed, I wouldn't be attempting to watch 22 episodes of Alias from the library in one week. We'll see how it works, but it looks cool. The only downside is that the list is under Mom's Amazon sign-in, so I can't sneak gay porn or bad David Hewlett movies onto it :-( On the other hand, she may let me sneak Babylon 5 box sets on if I don't get any for Christmas :-)
