So I am exactly worried enough to call the vet and ask about Kate and Annie. They apologised that I hadn't been called: the surgeon has apparently been run off her feet today.
They both came through the surgery fine and they're recovering well. The receptionist and technician both called them super super sweet :-) So they've been putting on their adorable faces and probably getting cuddles as rewards.
I can go in and fetch them in a couple of hours. Phew!

Date: 2009-01-08 12:12 pm (UTC)I'm OK when it's just a check-up and I'm there with them, but this thing where I had to leave them there and know that they were having anesthetic and could have bleeds and things terrified me. Perhaps it's a good thing that I'm going to have cats rather than kids?

Date: 2009-01-08 12:29 pm (UTC)Years after that he had a case of crystals in his bladder that had accumulated into a giant, marble sized rock that was causing him excruciating pain. They operated to get rid of that, but had to go back in when they realised the first surgery had left internal wire sutures that probably should have been removed rather a long time ago - but I was never told they were even there!
And he dealt with it all WAAAAAAAY better than I did. I was sobbing and puking and pacing and not sleeping at all. He's the longest relationship of my life and I'd be so lost without him! It's hard to leave them in the hands of people you know are going to slice them open and will be responsible for their fragile, precious little lives.
I am so glad your girls returned unscathed and I hope you get some anxiety-free sleep. :D
