In which I give birthday wishes and flail

A day late (although it sounds like you'd have preferred the big day to be today), but...

Happy Birthday hhertzof! Hope today brings lots of lovely things and is a big improvement on yesterday. Although it sounds like it ended well and I do like your new bunny :-)

I am not certain at all that I want the job that I'm interviewing for today. In fact, it's more a case of "talk me into it" than me feeling all desperate and dying for the job.

So why am I flailing and terrified of this interview? I've even done lots of prep including sitting down with a long list of possible interview questions and thinking up answers to them. Flail!

Seriously, the only thing that's making me feel not unhappy right now is the idea that I'll have some pampering at the salon afterwards, but even that isn't without it's problems because it's a new salon and they could totally muck up my hair.

Interviews are nerve-wracking! Even if you don't want the job-- I think maybe it's because you're opening youself to rejection, even if you *want* to be rejected. *g*

New salon's are the same! One of the worst things about moving is finding someone to do a good job on your hair. I've got my fingers crossed for you. :)

I suspect that you're right. I don't want to be rejected, whether I want the job or not, because it says something bad about me! Except it doesn't, not really, but my little lizard brain can't quite remember that.

The new salon seems to have worked. She's cut it a little shorter and closer in the back and left it a little longer in front. And she used *product* (only a little bit) to encourage it to dry in an appropriate shape and stay that way. Usually I have a couple of sections that flick out in a silly manner no matter how much I brush them. She even used some kind of serum to smooth it down afterwards so it doesn't like as fly-away and frizzy as it usually does. I'm quite impressed and I rather like the colour she used as well.

Obviously, I'll see how I feel when I wash it and try to style it tomorrow without all that good salon knowledge.

I didn't quite have the confidence to ask what she was using in my hair. I know nothing about hair care and styling. It may be time to admit defeat and use slimy stuff when I'm doing my hair of a morning, except I don't know what to use! Where do other girls learn these things? I kind of skipped it in my growing up education.

I feel that the salon went rather better than the job interview *nods* I have good hair, but I rather suspect that I have no job. But I learned what I need to do for my next interview, so that's good.

And good hair always cheers up a girl! (Especially when she has discovered little orangey chocolate pearls in a handy handbag container that are perfect for eating while reading and letting dye soak in)

I haven't been to a salon in a long time. The nature of my hair (very straight when wet) means that I can trim it myself.
