I am living in a sit-com today
Jun. 13th, 2008 11:53 amDespite all evidence to the contrary, I definitely do not and never have
suffered from hayfever. Nor do a I have a cold. Therefore my body is
hallucinating due to extreme exhaustion.
Seriously, it did this on Wednesday and no cold developed. Yet I have never
in my life had even the faintest sign or symptom of hayfever so this is a
damned odd time to develop it. Gah!
Also, I was so tired this morning that the following conversation occurred:
Da Boss: Can you report that to MIS Support?
Me: It's not actually their area.
Da Boss: Well, report it anyway.
Me: But Mum, it's...er, Da Boss, oh god...
Yes, everyone is currently laughing at me and they're not going to let me
forget it.
We also have many dramas from a colleague who had a car crash at the weekend
and other dramas with Da Boss being nasty to L about her intended career
path and Da Boss is in a general bad mood that's being taken out on
everyone. I am taking many tea breaks to talk to people and calm them down.
Just call me Agony Aunt Sel.
Lastly, there are chocolates and nobody knows who they came from so we are
eating them because what else do you do with random chocolate? And we are
declaring it Biscuit Friday and raiding our biscuit stash because, my god,
this week sucks piggy wonks. When does the weekend start?
The good thing is that my team now knows my plans and they're all being
remarkably good about them. Yay for my team!

In those low moments, maybe you can think of your boss ten years from now, still being called 'mum' behind his back, and those stuck at Tescos thinking fondly of you.

Date: 2008-06-14 10:55 am (UTC)My boss is an idiot. Bleh.
I have some very nice images now of my office-mates snickering about him over IM and him having this confused "Duh?" expression as he tries to figure out why they're giggling. In two years time :-)
Love the icon, BTW :-))
