This is only brief because it was four days ago and I seem to have filled those four days completely. But I did rather love it :-)

This to really rather love:

- Have to mention Rose. That half a second glance of her in the monitor had me glued and trying to convince myself that I hadn't imagined it. They are really building up the whole season arc well now.
- Donna. Seriously, every Donna moment was pure genius.
- The growth in Donna. We're not losing her essential Donna-ness, but she's growing into the companion role beautifully, thinking on her feet and turning out to be surprisingly brave.
- The Sontaran plot was suitably militaristic and strategic, part of their Rutan war, and I'm so glad Rusty and co. didn't forget that.
- Oddly I was glad to see the slight redemption of Rattigan even though he was a rat. It's nice to see that theme of the Doctor changing people for the better again.
- The Sontaran haka grew on me. I wasn't sure about it at first, but by the end I loved it.
- Speaking of the haka, that "oh shit" expression on the General's face when Rattigan appeared in place of the Doctor was brilliant.
- They found a way to destroy the Sontarans (seriously, the Sontarans wouldn't retreat so there was no other way) without having the Doctor press the button. The Doctor killing them just wouldn't work for me.
- They mentioned the Brigadier!! And I love the idea of Sir Alistair doing something terribly important in Peru :-) That man doesn't do retirement, does he?
- Donna has to be mentioned again for that talk with Wilf at the end.
- Also, Wilf needs to return regularly because he's fabulous.
- Martha is kick ass and I love that she's over the Doctor and getting on with her life, even if it's not quite what I'd pictured for her at first.
- Martha and Donna are quite the tag team on the Doctor. Love it.
- Steel jacketed bullets to defeat the cordaline signal? Rather reminiscent of the Brigadier producing every type of bullet possible during Battlefield and it felt very UNIT-ish.
- The Commander Sontaran took so much joy in war and fighting. They really caught that love of battle in him.
- After watching all the old Sontarans in the Confidential, I have even more love for the new Sontaran make-up because, um, some of the old Sontarans were really more laughable than scary.
- Can I mention the Donna-love again?

The Sontaran haka grew on me. I wasn't sure about it at first, but by the end I loved it.

I still hate it. It doesn't help that I keep seeing it written as SONTAR-HA! and the exclamation mark looks a lot like an I, which makes it sound even more silly.
