Not to be picky, but...
May. 1st, 2008 02:25 pmDear Boss,
Thank you very much for (not) telling us about your holiday. Your little
note sent while we were at lunch telling us that you'd be at the other site
and available on your mobile this afternoon was (not) very helpful,
particularly the bit where you told us that you would see us next week, bye!
I really don't feel that snooping in your diary is the best way to manage
our relationship, but it is apparently the only way to find out what's
happening around here.
Your lovely note also failed to mention that you won't be in on Tuesday, our
busiest day, so thank you for (not) mentioning to L your decision on the
reports she has to produce on Tuesday. We are all feeling the love here and
we're very confident that we can handle Tuesday without talking to you about
any of the things that should happen while you're away and that you're
supposed to be making a decision on. In particular, E is feeling (not) very
happy about her work now that you have ducked out of your meeting with her
to discuss what she is working on and give guidance on the next project she
needs to start.
In closing, I would like to assure you that our comments in our staff survey
a few weeks ago should in no way be taken as a criticism of your inability
to inform us of your movements or give us advance warning of your days off.
We accidentally hit the font control, that is why that particular paragrah
is in 48pt red Arial and N's finger got stuck on the ! key.
No love,
your adoring staff.
PS. Tomorrow we "won't know" where you are, due to your good communications
on your plans. This will be the reason for the panicked texts from other
members of staff who desperately need you. I really hope you remembered to
inform your director of your holiday plans - we won't!
