Mostly ready for Orbital and OTW stuff

selenayWell, I am mostly ready for Orbital 2008. I've got most things in my bag apart from last minute things like slippers and it still looks very empty. Huh. I'm trying not to panic and imagine that this means I've forgotten half the stuff that I need!

paranoidangel42 to arrive with hhertzof and then we're off! I have missed going to cons so much :-) This one should be a blast.
On a different note, OTW has released the roadmap for the Archive of Our Own. It's intended as a roadmap of how they'll be developing it, but it gives a lot of information on how the archive will work and what kind of features will be available. I'd been wondering how they'd manage to differentiate from other big archives like FF.Net and it turns out that they'll do it by just generally being better. They seem to be taking a lot of the features of other archives, adding in lots of features that people have had on wishlists for years and not putting in things that people have always hated. I read through the description and got rather excited about how cool and whizzy it might well be.
Whether all of those features will make it to the end product remains to be seen, but I'm certainly going to be signing up to play when it's released to the public just to see whether it's as good as hoped for.
