The weekend so far
Jan. 13th, 2008 01:21 pmWell, this has been one of those nice lazy weekends where I've done a few bits and bobs but not a huge amount and enjoyed it rather a lot. The important part of this weekend has been sleep and lots of it so that I feel less wrung out and shattered next week. I'd like not to be falling asleep while driving, thank you.
This afternoon I plan to do lots of writing as the weather is really not good enough for a long walk :-( I may drag out the treadmill, though, just to keep the legs active. Bonus of that is that I can listen to podfic while I walk which I don't like to do when I'm walking outside :-)
The other thing to do this afternoon is finally order some wool. My sister has decided on the colours she wants on the blanket that I'm going to be making for her so I need the wool. Her pattern for the blanket is very nice so I'm thinking of using the same patch pattern - with different colours - for a blanket for myself. I've also decided to do my first pattern piece of knitting. My hairdresser, who I have been seeing for nearly ten years, is having a baby in May. She's going onto maternity leave at the end of March, which means that I won't see her after that because she won't be back at work before I leave for Canada. This makes me sad, not least because she cuts my hair so well!
As a thank you for all her work over the years, I thought that I'd knit something for the baby. Mum dug out a pattern for a baby jacket and I've found some nice red wool in my knitting book that will look great and isn't pastel. I hate pastels. So once I've finished knitting my scarf, it's on to the baby jacket (pattern! Eep!) and then back to blanket making.
And now I must away to lunch.
