Twirly

Last night I did something very, very silly. I stayed up rather, er, late chatting with Best Friend in America. Past midnight kind of late when I have to get up for work at 5.30am.

Everything is too bright and too loud and too early today. Twirly.

BFIA arrived at my house just as I was finishing my post-work rest, which was excellent time. We ate some supper and trundled over to Best Friend 2's flat (the friend with a flat that she doesn't actually live in yet, but does enjoy visiting. Yes, we do mock her a lot) for drinks and snacks. The problem was that we had so much fun talking and eating and drinking that the time completely ran away with us until just before midnight when it occurred to us that BF2 and I have to get up early for work. Oops.

Cue dash home, more chattering on the stairs and me finally rolling into bed at 12.30am.

Today I am very, very tired. BFIA stayed over at my house last night (I told her not to get up before I went to work, I'm not that cruel) and will be out visiting during the day. Tonight we are going out for dinner with BF2 which will have a definite time-limit on it because the restaurant will be chucking us out at some stage.

I always forget just how much I love spending time with BFIA and how much I miss her. Then she visits and our friendship picks up as though we'd never been apart and I remember. The good thing is that once I'm in Canada we'll be much closer both phyisically and time-zone-wise so we'll be able to visit each other more often and, even more importantly, talk on the phone more regularly. Seven hours time difference makes timing phone calls tricky.

Wanna bet that I end up unexpectedly napping one evening this week? Yeah. Uh-huh. Thankfully, after Christmas Eve I am off work until after the New Year. Yay! It's what will keep me going for the next seven days...

In other news, work is a little less crazy today. In fact, I'm struggling to work out what to do with myself due to the non-crazy.

And in surprising news, today I am smarter than my director. He's usually a certified genius, but today he was "having a moment" with a graph, going a little crazy about why it didn't match the other reports. Um, that's because he confused the key to the very simple graph. Heh. Despite the exhaustion, I am actually smarter than Da Big Boss today.
