Just a note

A few days ago our cat, Skipper, had to be put to sleep. The old guy was sixteen and in pain so we didn't feel that it was fair to keep going. It's a little bit odd not being tripped over by him every time I turn around. A house feels empty without a cat.

Guess I'll just have to buy a pair of kittens when I move next year.



In other news, I had a lovely weekend except for the being nauseous all the time. And I saw Harry Potter a second time, which allowed me to spot lots of things that I hadn't spotted the first time. Today I've done a bit of college work, a bit of web work and now I plan to have a quiet evening with some knitting and a book. Yay me.

Ohhhh. I'm so sorry to hear about Skipper. Whether it be one month or sixteen years, a true family cat is a *fundamental* part of the family.

And I completely concur about the empty house.

When one is a cat lover, a house is empty without a feline about.

So, when the time is right, I hope your house will no longer be empty but rather filled with paw prints.

Thank you for the kind words. It's hard to explain why tripping over tails ten times a day and getting shouted at for food regularly is something to be missed to anyone who isn't a cat lover.

I plan to move overseas next year, so once I'm settled in my new home I'm planning on acquiring two little kitten friends. It would be too weird to be moving out into a completely empty house.

Sorry to hear about Skipper. Sounds like it was the right thing to do but that doesn't always make it any easier.

Thank you. We knew it was coming - we thought it was going to happen just before Redemption and then he perked right up and seemed pain-free and happy. So we got a few extra months, but we couldn't stand watching him in pain again. Doesn't make it easier :-(

You're welcome. I was sorting through photos because I was sure that I'd taken a photo of him at some stage this year. Chrissie would like a piccie and it turned out that my photos of him were better than I remembered.

I just wish that I'd though to take more of them.

I'm afraid that this LJ might become the kitten photo blog next year :-)

Sorry to hear about skipper, I never met him but he looks beautiful

I know the house without a cat feeling we lost our old cat in November 2005 and didn't get our two kittens until June 2006.

The house felt empty but we did't realise how empty it was until we got the two mad moggies :)

He was a beautiful tabby, absolutely perfect markings. He was a complete moggy (two long black long haired brothers rather proved that) and much more lovable for it, but he had beautiful markings.

I'm looking forward to getting two new moggies next year. There seems little point to getting anything at the moment when I'm emigrating in just under a year, but finding two new kittens will be one of the first things that I do :-)
