A rather fine end to a fairly crappy week
May. 25th, 2007 10:37 pmThis week has been one of those nasty weeks where you really can't wait to get out on Friday so that it will just end at last, OMG.
So it was a really lovely surprise to get a text today from the old friend I've been in contact with on Friends Reunited to ask if I'd like a visitor for a cup of tea tonight.
Um, do I have to answer this?
Of course I said "Yes, yes, yes, yes, when?" and we proceeded to work out times and sort out directions. Obviously, because this is me and my job, the motorway proceeded to put spanners in the works so that rather than turning up with lots of time to rest, de-flap and eat something, I got home and hadn't even finished eating (never mind the rest) when J arrived. Cue slightly embarrassed scoffing of the last bit of dinner :-)
But the important part is that we met up, spent two and a half hours talking and plan to meet up in June for a proper, in depth catch-up. Yay!! I'm so glad that we finally sorted this out with a fair bit of time before I go to Canada. We've exchanged current email addresses and Yahoo IDs so that we can email and chat regularly and arrange a day out. Can you tell that I'm bouncing and excited still? I may go watch DVDs until I've calmed down enough to sleep.
