Today was my initial physio appointment/assessment so that the physio can work out what I need. After much bending, stretching, walking and flexing, she has decided that I have surprisingly weak hips considering how well I walk and move. Huh. And that my back problems are probably related to my workstation so I should get the occupational whatsit at work to assess this and recommend improvements. I'm not even sure if the company has an occupational whatsit and I'm very doubtful about whether I'd be allowed to see one if we did. But I'm going to be hopeful and I plan to ask Da Boss about it when I get back on Monday.

The main result is that they feel hydrotherapy and some home exercises are the best way to go. So now I have to find my swimming costume - first session is Thursday evening. Luckily they have evening sessions so they won't interfer with work - something to remind Da Boss about when I ask about the occupation whatsit. I am doing my best to comply with orders and not let this interfer with my work. See? So he can do his best to help me out in turn.

Otherwise, it's been a quite day and I'm starting to get the hang of this relaxation thing. I think.

I've been wanting to read something for the past few days, except I'm not quite sure what it is that I want to read. I've returned to an old favourite (The Black Gryphon, Mercedes Lackey, for the curious) but it's not really scratching the itch.

I think that I can identify part of the problem. What I really want to read is a good, meaty, novella to novel length Teyla/Weir fic rated at around the R (maybe NC-17, if I'm totally honest) range with plenty of plot and intrigue to go with my romance and smut.

Except it doesn't exist.

Why does it seem to be so hard to find really good femslash in most fandoms? Xena and Buffy were probably the exceptions to the rule. In most fandoms, you'll find a mixture of short smutty and short angsty fics, usually not a whole bunch of either, and almost no long, novella type femslash fics. Except that's exactly what I want to read. Yup, I love me some m/m slash too but there's lots of it and I have a whole folder of fics bookmarked to read that fit into the m/m slash novella to novel type of fic. But no femslash and definitely none for the pairing that I most want to read right now.

So I'm going to be picking up old favourite books that really don't fit the bill, reading the odd bit of girlporn ([livejournal.com profile] mmmchelle and [livejournal.com profile] sdraven have both helped there *g*) and wishing for what I really want to read because it just doesn't exist yet. Or at least, I don't think that it exists yet. If anyone wants to prove me wrong, go right ahead.
