For a couple of days it was all looking so good. I had a job that (I was told) would last at least six weeks and therefore I'd have a steady income for a while. It would reduce the stress while I look for something permenant.

Yesterday I was told that the company I was temping for had been assigned two permenant members of staff from head office, starting today. Unfortunately that meant there was no need to keep me *sigh* Apparently it's not a reflection on my work, but that doesn't make me feel any better about losing a good contract. It seems that the branch I'd been with had been trying to get permanent staff for nine months, they'd finally got permission to find a temp (me) and then head office stuck their beaks in and recruited without telling the branch. Woo.

So it's back to the agencies. I've emailed my CV to two more (does nobody want to meet me?), but apparently neither of them have had any temp work in this week so they're not hopeful. Goody.

Looking on the bright side (because I always try to find one), this does give me more time to write job applications and get some things done that I didn't have time for in December. So, y'know, for now it's not a disaster.

Um, someone wants to interview me? Me?

Got an interview for Tuesday next week :-) Way, way quicker than I thought it would be. Totally. It's for a graduate trainee developer position and the agency is sending me further details. I only applied for it this morning! Man, that's stunning.

My sister, who has been searching for work for six months and got another rejection last night, is a little miffed. Oops.

In other news, what does a girl do when she unexpectedly has a day off? Why, she updates The Haven with new fanfic reviews. Only six of them - not much reading got done last month - but they're all quality fics :-) Tomorrow I may play around with PSP or finally rewatch 'The Eye' so that I can write the next Teyla/Weir thing. Or both, even :-)

It's amazing how much a prospective job interview can perk up the mood :-)
