It's often been assumed that the Master *may* be the doctors brother and was almost cannon till delgardo died ...
Now as RTD has said he takes the 8th doctor movie as cannon we know the master was last seen disapearing into the eye of harmony, so used to would be apt ...
That also means the Doc is still half human too, but less said about that the better ..
I've heard the brother speculation regarding the Master, so it would be interesting if that was the intention.
I've been assuming that RTD takes the 8th doctor movie as canon due to the numbering of the Doctors, which means we're unlikely to see the Master again :-(
But it is an interesting comment and I'm wondering whether that will be refered to again or dropped, leaving us to wonder forever.
It's a nice nod to continuity if that's the way RTD intended it. I liked the Doctor's acknowledgment that he had once been a father last season and it's good to see RTD and co. making those connections to the canon of the original series. It was something that I was worried about when the series was first being discussed - whether the writers would try to pretend that thirty years of canon doesn't exist - so I'm glad that my worry was unfounded.
Although one wonders whether they'll ever try to tackle those elements of continuity in the original series that are completely contradictory :-)
That also means the Doc is still half human too, but less said about that the better ..
