For all my fellow Harry Potter fans, Leaky Cauldron has a sneak peak of the cover art for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows here. UK fans are probably going to be most interested in the UK cover :-) Looks pretty good and makes me even more impatient to get the book into my grubby little hands.

Also, how did I not know that the RSS of John Scalzi's blog was available at scalzifeed?

In addition, marthawells kindly alerted everyone on her friend's list to Lois McMaster Bujold's new MySpace feed at lmb_myspace so I am passing on the info to interested readers. I'm just not sure why they picked MySpace...

I now return to writing and attempting to learn some French, not necessarily in that order.

I prefer the UK version. ;) But I also love the UK Adult version. :) At first, when I saw that label, and the picture of the pendant, I thought, "Where's the nudity?" :-p Well, in Equus, of course. :-p

I prefer the UK versions over the US for a lot of books :-) It depends on the illustrator, but sometimes the US covers don't have the kind of subtlty and detail of the UK ones. I can still remember my horror at seeing the US cover of David Eddings' Queen of Sorcery. How could they do that to Polgara?

Harry Potter definitely gets the better cover in this case :-) And possibly the most intriguing...

I'm never entirely happy about this 'Adult' cover version thingy. I've seen it on a couple of other book series and it makes me uncomfortable that people don't want to be seen with something that looks like a children's book (worse yet - don't want to be seen with Terry Pratchett's fabulous comical covers). It's just a personal thing, though, and I suspect that a lot of people have good reasons for using the adult covers.

Well, in Equuus, of course :-p

*snicker* It's not *that* kind of Adult. Much as many fans wish it were ;-)

I didn't really see "adult" as the "getting away from children's books" look, because when someone says "adult" the first thing I think of is "sexual". I'm looking at the HP7 cover that says "UK Adult version" and thinking, "Okay, um, that's 'adult'?" ;)
