Writing progress and autumn feeling
Sep. 12th, 2004 10:48 pmI'm not sure why, but today suddenly felt autumny. It could be the weather (grey, windy, hint of rain), it could be the appearance of the first yellow leaves, it could be my sister cooking a very seasonal supper, or I could just be getting excited about autumn. Whatever it is, I've been enjoying the feeling because I'm a strange person who loves autumn.
I love corn on the cob. Just a side-note. It reminds me of autumn because when I was a kid, you could only get corn on the cob at harvest festival time and it seems to have left a permenant association in my mind. Add corn to stuffed courgette and baby spinach and you have a rather autumny meal. Yum.
Writing today (Mage Murders):
New words (handwritten) - approx. 1,400
Total handwritten words - approx. 12,750
Words typed up: 419
Total typed up: 1,151
The enormous disparity between what I've typed and what I've written can be blamed squarely on the need to edit and polish as I type. I've got a better handle on the characters with ten thousand words written so the early stuff needs a lot of revising as I type. I'm pleased with this weekend's work, though.
