During the Redemption con, I attended a couple of book panels and got roped into being on the panel for the "Buried Treasures" one. We were attempting to discuss the books that we had read and nobody else had, unknown books by popular authors or really any books (and graphical novels) that seemed to fit with the them. A couple of people cornered me afterwards asking whether I could post the list of the books we discussed on the LJ comm for future reference. Thanks to lists from others in the audience (most noticeably [livejournal.com profile] wychwood) and my sadly patchy memory, I have what is hopefully most of the books that we discussed.

Robert Silverberg - Lord Valentine's Castle
Robert Graves - Seven Days in New Crete
Amanda Hemingway (also writes as Jan Seigel) - Greenstone Grail, Traitor's Sword, Poisoned Crown
Sterling E. Lanier - Hiero's Journey and others
David Langford - The Leaky Establishment
Tim Powers - On Stranger Tides, The Anubis Gates, other early books
Robin McKinley - fairytale books, especially , The Blue Sword
David Eddings - mainstream books: High Hunt, The Losers, and especially Regina's Song
Robert Forward - Dragon's Egg and Starquake
John Varley - Titan and "In the Hall of the Mountain King" (in The Persistence of Vision)
Suzy McKee Charnas -Walk to the End of the World and Motherlines
Patrick Tilley - Fadeout and Mission (also the Amtrak Wars; apparently the first three are quite good?)
D.F. Jones - Colossus
Roland Green - Peace Company; also apparently some cracking short stories
Robert Asprin - Phule's Company and Phule's Paradise; he has also co-written some new Phule books with Peter J Heck in recent years
Octavia Butler - the Patternmaster series, especially Mind of My Mind
Megan Lindholm (also writes as Robin Hobb) - Wizard of Pigeons
Nicola Griffith - Slow River
Zenna Henderson - the People collection
Diane Duane - the Young Wizards series, also The Door Into Fire and sequels
Susan Cooper - The Dark is Rising sequence
John M Ford - Star Trek tie-ins, How Much For Just The Planet and The Final Reflection
Peter Milligan - Enigma
Kurt Busiek - Astro City
Peter O'Donnell - the Modesty Blaise series

The links go through to LibraryThing so hopefully people can find the rest of the authors' books where we discussed an entire sequence of books. If anyone has books to add that I/we have forgotten, feel free to comment and discuss :-)
