Anniversaries and LJ Talk again
Mar. 4th, 2007 05:52 pmToday we celebrated the anniversary of Mum's birth (which is technically on Wednesday, but my sister couldn't get home them) by going out to an excellent South African fish restaurant. Yummy. I had crab cakes to start followed by a skillet of halibut, calamari and shell-on tiger prawns cooked in a South African style which was absolutely amazing. All of it was done perfectly (no rubber calamari, for example) and the portions were just the right size to feel pleasantly full without being at the exploding end of full. Everyone else's meals were apparently equally divine, so it was a definite hit.
I have one more birthday meal do this week, supper at the local Thai place on Thursday for a friend, so this isn't going to be a low calorie week. And I've managed to have rather a nice amount of wine three days running, which is more than I usually drink in a month, so it's also been a slightly alcoholic weekend :-)
Today is also the anniversary of my uncle's death. It's a weird to think that it's been a year already. I still miss him.
In slightly less maudlin news, Gizmo still doesn't work for me but I've downloaded a trial version of Trillian Pro and now I have LJ Talk back again. Yay!
paranoidangel42: I seem to have your problems with communicating to Gmail. Drat. So I'm keeping Google Talk on my computer for now - those who want to IM me can use either my LJ ID or my Gmail address.
Speaking of email addresses, if anyone still has my old btinternet.com address can you delete it from your address books? We're planning to move ISPs in the next few weeks and that address is going. Everyone should have either my selenayhaven.com address or my Gmail address. I do check my Gmail address slightly more regularly, though, and if I've friended you then you'll be able to find that address on my profile.
I think that's it. I'm going to give up on getting more French work done and eat cake with the family instead.

Date: 2007-03-04 09:21 pm (UTC)Er, yeah. It seems that the only solution is to wait for the upgrade of Trillian 4.0 (currently called Trillian Astra). Which will involve paying again, since the Pro only covers small releases.

Date: 2007-03-06 10:22 pm (UTC)I don't know. Mine told me yesterday it had run out, which turns out to be true, but all the Pro stuff still seems to be working and I can't find anywhere to give them more money, so I'll have to see what happens with that.

Oh, bugger, yes. I was fine when I had this account in Firefox and Harry's in IE tab, but then I got another account and a nifty LJlogin extension. So I spend half my time with the wrong login :)
