Redemption con report and other stuff
Feb. 27th, 2007 05:59 pmTo avoid cluttering up f-lists with duplicates, I will note that my Redemption con report can be read here: http://community.livejournal.com/redemption_con/64159.html
This is to avoid the Peg 2 problem of not even starting to write the report until at least a week afterwards...
Today has been largely a quiet, recovery day. I've pottered around, been out for some air and taken Sarah Jane down to the dealer to see whether I can get a new battery for the remote fob on the key. Sadly, it's not the battery that's gone wrong: the previous owner was rather too rough with the open button and it's finally given up the ghost. £60 for a new key, which I'm going to pay because it is rather convenient to not need to find the lock when I'm using my walking stick and feeling rather pathetic. New key will be at the dealer by Saturday so I guess I know what one of my jobs will be...
As I was passing it, I popped into the second hand bookshop (sorry,
historyterry) for five minutes and found a Chalet School book that I don't have yet.
For the interested, I managed not to wreck myself during Redemption. Yay me! I didn't even use my walking stick, although the bad hip was aching rather a lot by the evenings. However this is a new sensation, because it's usually more of an incredible sharp pain on weight bearing rather than continuous ache.
Huh.
Even my back survived with minimal damage. I have an appointment with the GP on Friday to discuss the referral to London, though, and I'm not sure whether turning up looking completely healthy is a good thing or not! Not that I'll be doing anything to bring on badness, though...
Speaking of, I'm going to lie down to rest my back and start my attempt to watch B7 again. It's rather bad to go to a B7 con without having watched most of the show...

Date: 2007-02-28 12:23 am (UTC)How about if you're a member of the committee (and have been for five Redemptions) and you've only seen one season plus a few episodes? And that was twenty years ago ...
... just asking, idle curiousity, nothing to see here <tuneless whistle>

Date: 2007-02-28 01:03 pm (UTC)I was putting the first series onto my Amazon rental list (so that I can watch the DVDs while resting my back rather than trying to watch on the computer) and worked out that, even if I get the full supply of DVDs every month until I leave, I'll not actually watch everything on the list! So I'm thinking that I'll probably have to invest in B7 myself rather than renting to make sure that I've seen some of it before Red 09 :-)
