Snow Day

It's official - I'm having a snow day :-) It's snowing heavily and there is already at least 5CM of snow on the ground. The forecasters say it won't be stopping until early afternoon so it's going to get worse.

Wheee!

Looking at the travel issues already, I'm glad not to be going in. The motorway I use is already blocked with accidents and I have 13 miles of untreated, very snowy roads to drive through before I get there. Current estimate is that I'd be sitting in my car, going nowhere, for around six hours. Instead I'm at home taking photos and uploading them to my shiny new Flickr account.

Anyone else home with the snow today?

ETA: Snow is really going at it now and further photos have been uploaded. Why didn't anyone tell me how cool Flickr is before?

I so wish!!! But no, today happens to be the day of one of our Board Meetings so I absolutely need to go into London. On the plus side, I snagged some pics of the winter wonderland that is my backyard this morning :) And the trains are really light on passengers this morning! Thanks to everyone who *is* taking a snowday ... Although I do wish I *was* in that group.

I had a couple of meetings scheduled, but one was with someone who also is unlikely to be in and none of them were terribly urgent. I've got 35 miles to drive just to get to work and I'm obeying all the police warnings. I'm a good girl.

And it's so pretty and snowy out there :-)

Nope - I'm in work. Two miles of walking through snow drifts, one mile of slush, in half an hour later than usual - and STILL I'm the first one here!

{{{hugs}}} Awww! You've done well to get there. Da Boss says it's bad up at the office, so I think that I've made the right decision. People can probably get places by train better than by road today!

The police are telling people in cars to take shovels, blankets, emergency supplies and everything you might need if you're stuck in the car for several hours. Goodie. I'm obeying their "don't drive unless it's an emergency" statement.

In the last half hour, the show has actually got heavier!
