selenayThis has been a pretty awful week so far. I've clocked up four hours of overtime so far, I've been harrassed from all sides and pulled off other work to do special stuff. Never, ever work in retail at Christmas. It's hell. Think the stores look bad? Try being at the end that organises it all! The amount of work that goes into making sure there are the right number of turkeys for you all is...yurch.
Anyway, bad week. Didn't get home until 7pm today. Mum told me there was a parcel waiting, which rather intrigued me.
It was an Amazon parcel. All the Christmas presents arrived a couple of days ago and I'm not waiting for anything from Amazon.
Obviously I opened it. Inside there was a wrapped present and an envelop that contains the invoice (just in case).
The intriguing, frustrating, totally tormenting part? IT'S NOT SIGNED!
Yes, that's right, I have a mysterious benefactor present. Mum's checked the invoice and it doesn't say who it's for although she was able to confirm that it's off my Amazon wishlist. So somebody knows me well enough to either have my Gmail address or know my real name. They care enough to actually make sure that it's something I want.
But I don't know who it is! I'm seeing all the friends and family who are likely to send gifts over Christmas, so I doubt it's any of them. Who the heck has sent me this lovely, fantastic surprise?? Did they forget put in a message on the tag deliberately?
Mother is enjoying my tormented frustration far too much :-)
If anyone wants to make a confession, comments are screened for LJ users who aren't signed in so you could leave a comment that way without exposing your generosity to anyone else...
Not that I'm in any way getting totally, completely obssessed about this :-) It's a lovely gesture and I'm very thankful to whoever did it, even if nobody ever comes forward :-)))
