Atlantis start date?
Sep. 25th, 2006 10:02 amToday is Monday and, as usual, my data warehouse has ground to a shuddering halt. I'm very glad that my big report got set up at yikes o'clock this morning due to the scheduler because at least it's likely to finish running by lunchtime. Anything that wasn't kicked off then is likely to remain unfinished by the evening. Apparently they had some 'issues' with the overnight batch processing. Go them :-)
I am not sure what I was doing in my sleep last night, but my back sure hurts from it. Silly me. Is it time to go back to bed yet?
In more cheerful thoughts, does anyone know when the new season of Atlantis is likely to start airing in the UK? If it's going to be while I'm in Canada (less than two weeks to go!) then I may just download the first couple of episodes now rather than attempting to record them. So far, Torchwood is scheduled properly (for around twelve hours after I return to the country), but I know nothing on likely air dates for Atlantis or the new version of Robin Hood that will probably be mightily bad with very unlikely pretty people but totally unmissable. So, info peeps?
In a show of intelligence, I did not begin watching Jane Eyre last night. I will be away for the second half. Plus I always want to slap Jane so watching the DVDs when my parents aren't around to laught at me is probably a good plan.

Date: 2006-09-25 09:40 am (UTC)The BBC are being really annoying with Robin Hood, given they've been saying it's coming soon since Doctor Who finished. They have a tendency not to give actual dates till a week in advance, which is just not helpful.
When have you heard Torchwood is starting? I'm collecting rumours, so far I have 21st/22nd/28th October on BBC1/2/3 at 9pm (can't remember now if I've heard any other times, would be a shame to only have one rumour for that one!).

Date: 2006-09-25 11:00 am (UTC)If Robin Hood decides to start while I'm away, I'll have to dl the first episodes and ditto for Atlantis. Usually we've started Stargate/Atlantis by the end of September, which is why I'm feeling a bit confused about it all right now. I'm not sure whether I'll be watching while I'm in Canada, bearing in mind that I haven't seen any S3 episodes yet (and the only one that I've even read spoilers for was McKay and Mrs Miller because there was so much squee).
TV stations need to announce air dates months in advance so that I can put them in my diary and actually know what I've got to record and what will need dl-ing :-)

Date: 2006-09-25 12:05 pm (UTC)The stupid thing is that they do their schedules months in advance but won't tell anyone anything more than two weeks in advance. It might be worth doing a search of the Radio Times website just befpore you go (http://www.radiotimes.com/tv/now.html), see if anything comes up there.

I really wish that the BBC would at least let us know the line-up of these kinds of things a month before they start. I'll have to check the RT site just before I leave, although it may not have the info quite that far out. Grrr.

Date: 2006-09-26 04:16 pm (UTC)My TV guide also talks about interviews with the stars of Robin Hood, which makes it sound like it's starting the week after next.

Date: 2006-09-26 06:30 pm (UTC)The RT website varies in its accuracy - it's not a fool-proof thing, although it's better than nothing. I'll just have to take my chances and hope that I can find a decent feed for things when I get back.

Date: 2006-09-28 11:40 am (UTC)As it's 13 episodes, they won't get that in before Christmas!

Date: 2006-09-29 05:07 pm (UTC)You can tell I don't watch TV, and when I do I don't have adverts and trailers :)
Wonder what they'll do with the scheduling on that one?
They're going to have the same problem with Torchwood. I don't know whether they'll put extra episodes on on other days or something. They don't usually stop these sort of things before Christmas and carry on afterwards.
