Bushism fun
Aug. 6th, 2004 05:50 pmI can't decide which amused me more yesterday: the fact that Bush made such a lovely blooper or the fact that it was news-worthy over here in little ol' England :-) I think it might have been the glee with which the newscaster announced that Bush had committed another Bushism that really got me. Mom and I were cheering at the TV as Bush declared that he was searching for ways to damage and undermine his country. Mom thinks that there's a speech writer out there with a wicked sense of humour. I just think that someone didn't check that the speech would make Bush into a moron before they chucked it on the teleprompter. Either that or Bush tweaked it a little :-)
I'm sure that I had something insightful that I wanted to say today. In fact, I remember having something insightful to say and deciding to wait until later before writing in the LJ. Oh, brain, where are you when I need you?
I'm going to picnic in Hyde Park with some fellow Stargate geeks tomorrow :-)
paranoidangel42 will be surrounded by slashers all day, but she's a lovely person who doesn't seem to mind us blathering about slash. We're gonnna have fun and geek out over the Stargate thing and the fanfic thing and...er...stuff.
Hmm, I know one thing that I wanted to say. Why, oh why, do Dell keep sending me magazines filled with computers that I want to buy and can't afford until I rejoin the world of the employed? It's not just lovely PCs: there are gorgeous laptops that are made more tempting by my laptop's lack of working and pretty PDAs that would allow me to read fic on long journeys. I guess this was the good part about work, huh?
