Storms

I could have sworn that the weather forcast this morning didn't mention storms in my area. Obviously the weather doesn't know that it's meant to obey this prediction because at the moment we've got torrential rain, thunder and lightening.

At least it's cooling things down a little.

I've finished the draft for my research project and the related assignment is now sitting in an envelope to be posted tomorrow. Yay me. This means that I can now justify spending a couple of hours working on fic. I'm dusting off Inner Voices 4 because it really must be finished.

The Seven Chevron Awards have been announced at the Stargate Fanfic Awards and I'm pleased to note that several of my favourite stories were on the list. This fandom produces some fantastic fic *g*

I do have a question that someone might be able to answer. I've seen the term 'BNF' a number of time since I joined the LJ world, but I can't for the life of me work out what it is. Brainless Nerdy Fruitloop? Bob Needs Food? Be Nice Fucker? Colour me confused.

I think in the context you mean it means 'Big-Name Fan' - someone who is famous or notorious within the fandom.

Well, that does make more sense that Brainless Nerdy Fruitloop. Possibly. It's still not a term that makes a bunch of logical sense (there are fans so famous they get termed a BNF? Is that right?), but I'm willing to accept that fandom is an insane place.

Examples of BNF.... DM, Joy, ::shudder:: Orry, um Everybody on FDAS....The GRRRL, um...YOU ;D. Ya know, people that as soon as you find out they have a story out you run, not walk, to read it. Those people would be BNF's. Like when you find out that a new Voices has been posted....

or in the case of orry, you hunt the story down from all the lists delivered to the mailbox and ZAP it screaming all the obscenities you can think of :)

As for Voices...er...I actually did write a couple of pages last night. I'm now about half-way through the next part (I hope) so you may see it before Christmas. Yay me!
