Groundhog Monday
Jul. 24th, 2006 11:05 amA colleague commented today that it must be like living a groundhog
week here - we just finish the stuff for one week and then we're
starting again with a blank sheet and we have the same issues every
single time.
Today, lots of updates on the data warehouse failed so various reports
have needed re-running and the entire thing is grinding to a hault.
The latest issue was the data warehouse team killing one of my
reports, which has neccessitated calls to Bangalore to get things
sorted out *sigh* I'm now waiting for my boss to get out of a meeting
so that he can work out how to reset the report and get it going from
the point it was killed at without re-running from the start. As the
report has been going for three hours now, I'm reluctant to re-start
from scratch because I'll never get the thing finished if I do!
And, of course, there's an important deadline this week because the
info is needed for a meeting.
Today is turning out to be so much fun. I officially hate Mondays.
